the tormented figure depicted in this artwork represents a feeling of numbness and “apathy” that is often experience by those struggling with a long term diagnosis. the warm tones in the drawing humanise an often harshly examined illness. finally the physical distance between the body and head of the figure demonstrates the feeling of dysmorphia often experienced by trans people.
